Who we are
CobbleShine is a Minecraft server run from Ireland and is responsible (the data controller) for the data described here. Because we are based in the EU, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. Contact: support@cobbleshine.net.
This website
- We set no cookies and show no ads. Fonts and images are served from our own site, not from third parties.
- Our host keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and stop abuse.
- We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or track you across sites; we only see totals such as page views and which page or link brought visitors here.
- Pressing Copy next to the server address only copies text on your device. Nothing is sent to us.
The game server
When you play on play.cobbleshine.net, the server processes:
- Your Minecraft username and account ID (UUID), to save your progress and ranks.
- Your IP address, to connect you, stop ban evasion and alt abuse, and protect the server from attacks.
- Chat messages and commands, which are filtered and logged so staff can handle reports and keep chat safe.
- Gameplay data such as your Pokémon, items, money, playtime, votes and block changes (used to undo griefing).
- Reports you send with
/report, and moderation records such as warnings, mutes and bans.
We use this to run the game, keep it fair and keep players safe (our legitimate interests). Logs are deleted after a limited period. Moderation records are kept while they're relevant to safety. Your game progress stays while the server runs, unless you ask us to delete it.
Where your data is stored
The game server is hosted in the United States by Pufferfish Host (Pufferfish Studios LLC), so the game server data above is stored there. This is an international transfer of personal data outside the EU. We are confirming with the host which safeguard covers this transfer (such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses) and will name it here; e-mail us if you'd like details in the meantime. This website and our e-mail are delivered by Cloudflare, which may also process technical data outside the EU under its own standard contractual clauses.
Voting
When you vote on a server list, that site sends us your username so we can give you your reward. Each list has its own privacy policy.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by Tebex Limited, which acts as the seller (merchant of record) and is responsible for your payment details. We never see your card or bank details. Tebex shares with us what we need to deliver and support your purchase: your name, your e-mail address, your Minecraft username, what you bought, and the transaction details (amount, currency, time and status). We use these to deliver your purchase and handle support, refunds or chargebacks (performance of a contract), and keep them as long as accounting and tax rules require. See the Tebex privacy policy.
Discord and e-mail
Our Discord is run on Discord's platform under Discord's privacy policy. If you e-mail us, we keep the conversation so we can help you, and delete it when it's no longer needed.
Young players
Many of our players are young. We don't ask for your real name, age, address or photos, and our rules tell players never to share them. We don't sell data, show ads or build advertising profiles.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. E-mail support@cobbleshine.net from any address and tell us your Minecraft username; we may ask you to prove the account is yours in game. Some records (such as bans for serious rule breaks) may be kept where safety requires it. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Our supervisory authority is Ireland's Data Protection Commission; you can also contact the authority in the EU country where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
